Forest Nymph

Had too much excitement for a day yesterday. After seeing a part of my past and
talking with Daminu I went back to the village to rest a bit. Uno made a wonderful
pork pie for dinner, have to ask for the recipe next time. I struggled four hours,
could not sleep at all then finally at some point I managed to fall asleep. A strange
day I left behind, had no nightmares this time though I can not remember to have
dreamed about anything at all that night. There is a spring in the forest I wanted
to check out yesterday but I took my time to look around today. Had a chat with
Noah about some flowers and plants that had the ability to dye any clothes they
came in contact with. Noah then showed me the way to the spring, the Elim like
the water of the spring there, it has revitalizing effects. I promised Noah to get
some water and went to find the spring. Going deeper into the forest I saw a pack
of Mepigguses munching on something. Grunting and squeeking they ran away as
I approached them leaving behind what looked like a book at first. The book was
covered with moss and at the foot of the tree were plenty of mushrooms which
the Mepigguses love. Opening the book I made the discovery that it was actually
a diary. Turning to the front page I discovered a name, Melampus. Melampus?
With the diary in my hand I went back to the village to give it back to its righteous
owner. On my way back I bumped into Namus who was arguing with, what luck,
Melampus himself. Namus was in big trouble. He met a nymph in the woods near
the spring I was looking for. According to him the nymph was a beautiful being,
more beautiful than his fiancée. This is where he got himself in trouble, Namus
started flirting with the nymph apparently and told the spirit he was about to marry
a girl from the village although he kept on insisting they were talking about minor
things. Right…So, basically what happened is that the cheeky spirit took his
engagement ring and vanished. If Namus’ fiancée would find out what happened
she would surely brake up with him. And why Melampus and Namus were arguing?
Melampus had a book, a diary which had all sorts of informations about the
creatures of the forest in it, precious informations about nymphs too. Melampus
promised to lend the diary to his friend but lost it somewhere and could not find
it anymore. I told them I found a book that might be the one they were looking for.
Namus persuaded me to look for the spirit and in the meantime he would spend a
few days in the house of Melampus, hiding there from his girlfriend and the doom
he would face if she knew about the missing ring. Melampus gave me map on which
he pinpointed the location of the spring. Getting closer to spring I heard a calming
female voice singing. I saw a pair of legs in the mist then an upper body, it was the
nymph! She had a stunning figure, I somehow understood why Namus was so charmed.
While she was taking a bath I discovered her clothes on a big rock next to the spring.
I crept to the foot of the rock and grabbed her clothes. Some sort of alarm must have
went off because the nymph started shouting and swearing which was not so charming
anymore. I ran as fast as I could and hid in the bushes. Rummaging through her clothes
I finally found the ring, slipped it in to my pocket and went back to the spring. Have not
seen any sign of movement nor the nymph so I put back and rearranged her clothes on
the rock. Got my bottle filled up with some water for Noah and tried sneaking away.
Having quite a distance behind me I could make out a sound of a faint laughter. Was it
my imagination or the spirit planning an ambush?! Did not want to wait there to find out
what would happen so I went straight to the lodge of Melampus. Saw some light inside,
they were still up. Namus was so happy he invited me to his wedding. Told him I was
greatful for the offer but I still had some errands to do and declined the invitation.
Melampus made some roasted boar, I was happy to finally eat something. Time for bed.
